Q News - The Energy Resources Conservation Board has approved a plan to finally regain control of a sour natural gas well near Hythe. The plan will go into effect at around 12:30 this afternoon. They will temporarily put out the fire, to install new blowout preventers. This will allow the gas to flow to a flare stack. The fire will be out for about 30 minutes while the work is done. Roadblocks have been established 4km's around the site, and there is a no fly zone up to 3000 meters in the air.

- Peace River RCMP are seeking the public's assistance regarding an incident of theft. Around 5:30pm on Saturday police recieved a report of theft from a vehicle occuring in the parking lot of the No Frills grocery store. According to RCMP the driver's side window of the vehicle had been broken and a purse containing money and other various items was taken. If anyone has any information about this incident your asked to call police or crime stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

- A skier who ventured into an untracked area is believed to have been the cause of an avalanche on a ski run at a southwestern Alberta resort. The slide that extended for about 600 metres was triggered yesterday afternoon at the Castle Mountain Ski Resort near Pincher Creek. A full search of the snow was carried out but no one was trapped.Resort officials say extreme spring-like conditions contributed to the slide, which began when a pocket of snow was released
