First ever SADD conference in Peace deemed a success
Feb 12, 2017
Over 100 students attended the Students Against Drunk Driving Regional Conference Wednesday in Grande Prairie.
Provincial coordinator with SADD, Greg Schmidt, says it was a good turnout for their first event in the Peace Region.
"It was a large success. We had students from all kinds of different schools within Grande Prairie, as well as in the area. We had students from Manning and Sturgeon Lake, and then some other communities as well."
Schmidt adds he is hoping to grow the conference and make it an annual event in Grande Prairie.
Some of the discussion topics at the conference included: drinking and driving, distracted driving, drug impaired driving and making smart life choices.
"Just an overall safe driving event is what it turned out to be," said Schmidt.
