GP man in hospital after pipe falls off oncoming vehicle

The driver of one truck, a 55-year-old Grande Prairie man, suffered non-life threatening injuries after a pipe fell from an oncoming truck, went through his windshield and struck him in the shoulder.
It happened this morning around 7:30 on Highway 40 near Gold Creek.
Police describe the first vehicle as a one tonne Dodge truck with a flat bed that may have had welding equipment. The carbon pipe that struck the other truck is about three feet and three inches in diameter.
The driver struck by the pipe had to go to the QE2 and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
