Feb 16, 2017
Douglas Garland has been found guilty of three counts of first-degree murder.
The 57-year-old had been charged after the June, 2014 murders of Alvin and Kathy Likness and their five-year-old grandson Nathan O'Brien.
A Calgary jury reached the verdict after close to nine hours of deliberations. The jury is recommending Garland serve three consecutive life sentences. It is not clear when sentencing will take place.
